Introduction
Welcome to the Tweedie Archive.

The Tweedie Archive is the main source of information about the history of the Tweedie or Tweedy family. The Archive covers the family throughout the world. You are invited to browse the information and to contribute data that will help others to discover their family history.

The objective of the Tweedie Archive is to encourage research into the family history and then to preserve that information for future generations. By giving the information the widest possible circulation we aim to ensure its preservation.

We welcome details of your research into the Tweedie / Tweedy name and will include it into the Archive if suitable. We would particularly welcome written histories, memoirs and pictures of the family from past generations. All your contributions will be fully attributed to you and we will arrange to code them for the Internet site.

The Tweedie family originated in the Scottish Border country and has had a long and interesting history. Few of that name now live in the Borders but the name is well known in Edinburgh and Glasgow and branches of the family can be found throughout North America, Brazil, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The Tweedie Archive is completely non-profit making and is managed by Andrew and Pauline Tweedie. The information on the site is copyright protected, but may be copied and used for your own personal research. If you pass the information on to others, then you must include the source of the information. The information may not be sold or be part of any product that is sold without the written permission of the author.
